I don't think he did, he simply turned "good," so didn't want to anymore, plus Mr. Satan keeps him well fed, so he doesn't really need to...
When he split in half with that ugly meth looking Buu, it would seem he either lost the urge, the ability, or both in the process.

The mysterious aura when he first appears, the "OMG it's him!" moment when he steps out, and then they goto his planet and he's just a whiny little child the whole time...what good is that?! Looks like Gollum, acts like Smeagol...pfft...
Both of them were equal to SSJ2. It's even stated as much that Shin is as strong as Gohan was when he fought Super Perfect Cell. I mean that's quite a bit of power, but look where we're at now. Punk ass bitch.

Agreed, what annoys me the most is it's never shown off, in either character. MAKE them feel that powerful, don't just have characters say it. I wanted Dabura to be another long, powerful battle, it should have been. It was wholly underwhelming and ridiculous. Just really disheartening. Yeah, we got to Buu, but that just made it worse, because now here's this super powerful man child doughball when he just had the king of the demon world...come on...Both of them were equal to SSJ2. His whole character arc was a speed bump to get to Buu. I agree he should have been much more of a ridiculous threat to even the likes of Goku and Vegeta. He deserved more as the Demon king. We got f*ck all out of him.
Agreed, it's just insane that we could have had this epic battle with this overarching character and we didn't even get a Ginyu, we got a Guldo.
I believe that boo still retains his majin powers and theoretically could, but due to his evil side being killed, we were left with good boo, and this boo has no inclination to merge, and also has never really had the chance.
I don't see any reason he would lose the ability. I think maybe he just chooses not to or is influenced not to. Each absorption causes his personality changes and I guess that's one of the dangers that everyone might try to avoid.
He's still Buu, but only the good side is left. I'm sure he can still turn people into candy and do absorption, but there's really no point to do so. Satan keeps him well fed and entertained.
