Old age. We didn't put her down either.

She just went then on her own. That is kind of how my other cat Joey went. He just stopped eating. He had a spinal stroke and couldn't walk so I took care of him for about 10 days and the last 2 days when he stopped drinking water, I just laid in bed with him and comforted him until he went. It is hard.

I'm thankful that both my cats didn't have to be put down by us.

We're not getting any more cats. My mother was tired of cleaning their litter box. She says more dogs aren't out of the question, however.

I never had to put down a cat either. I lost my first one suddenly, just like Twig. I was at work and my mom called and told me she found him dead. It messed me up. I hate losing them but I can't see myself ever being without at least one cat in my life. I just hope in the future, I have time to say goodbye like I did with Joey.
