Just did 1,000 steps and timed it. Takes about 8 minutes. So I will be walking 80 minutes a day to start which is an hour and 20 minutes. Not bad.

I am halfway. Did 5,000 steps so far. Just did 2,000 instead of 1,000 and man my legs are on fire. I walk as fast as I can while doing this and have to dodge cats and cat toys at the same time lolol
So I've come to a point in my life where I've finally realized that a college education is something I'm going to need to look good for people who are hiring for certain positions. So, I'm going to get my BA. How hard can it be? I've only been out of school for 20 years.

Good for you! It's true, often times degrees are required. Well to lift the mysterious veil on my mysterious life, I applied for an 1811 job series which is criminal investigator. They have my application and someone my sister in law knows internally looked it over and says I have really good qualifications, but I lack a Bachelor's. So if someone with the same experience applies and they have a degree then I'll be passed over. It kinda chapped my ass that I have 19 years of federal service and 12 years experience in my current career which includes multiple disciplines but because I don't hold a piece of paper I'm basically gutter trash.
Agreed, that's pretty shitty. I think times are changing, but as it's the military I can see why it would be slower to adapt. Degrees aren't going to be a requisite for too much longer, IMO.
Yeap, if I had 100% say in the matter, I would overlook the lack of a degree and use the experience instead. In many cases, I can do that while hiring, just not all because they are required by the contract.
I'm a civilian, but you're right when you say the military. The gov't in general is very slow to adapt to new standards of hiring and day to day operations. We're reactionary and never proactive. Case in point with what's happening on the border right now. No plan in place for the massive influx of humanity when they rolled back the previous administration's policies.
I am going to focus on my career field and hopefully transfer as many credits as I can from any required learning I've taken and/or my academy I went through. Pursuing a degree in Homeland Security, which I think is funny because it's a BA. The Art of hunting down terrorists. I kinda like that.

I got to 7,000. So almost. I am going to throw in the towel for the night. My feet and legs are hurting. I will make sure to do more earlier on tomorrow. I want to be done with all 10,000 steps by 3PM.
Yeah, solid plan. The quicker it's done the quicker you can start recovering, eventually you'll reach the point where you don't feel it at all, that'll be great!
I think after doing it for a week, it will already be easier. I can also use weights and stuff when it gets too easy.
