The movie wasn't bad. I mean it was nothing like the classic Simpsons but I feel like the show was taking a nose dive a few years prior to that. A lot of people consider the end with the episode The Principal and the Pauper.

I just checked IMDb and the most recent season didn't have a single episode over 7/10

I can see why people have that episode, but I still think it's fun with some great quotes.

Simpson's is serviceable until about S16. There's a few great 12-14 episodes that are up there, if not better, than the best 1-10 episodes.

That's because the innuendos aren't kid-friendly. The jokes will go over kids heads. It did for me, but I'm aware of the innuendos therein skits, tho.
