Do you think Caulifla, Kale, and Cabba made Super Saiyan less impactful?
I'm so glad that tingly back thing was a Toei inclusion because it makes it so much easier to just write it off as non-canon like GT and move on with my life. I don't place much stock in the Super Saiyan transformations honestly, I use too though. I remember being upset when Goten and Trunks just turned Super Saiyan but now that I'm older I just find that kind of hilarious. But like, even that you can justify if you want to as genetic pass down, it was easier for them because they began life as a Super Saiyan sperm. The tingly back thing is just stupid, cheap, and worse of all, it's not even played off like a joke. Goten and Trunks was meant to be funny, like the Cell saga already turned what's suppose to be a Legendary unheard of status that only occurs once of thousand or whatever years into something that every Saiyan character in the series at that point had, so the mysticism and allure of Super Saiyan had already faded. It was just a transformation at that point, it didn't even feel overwhelming powerful anymore as it wasn't enough to deal with the Androids or Cell, that's why they needed Super Saiyan 2 for Gohan. But like the Goten and Trunks thing is like a joke on that. Which I think makes it more palatable than tingle backs because that was just a poor plot excuse to explain the powers up, which didn't need explaining. It was satirizing anything, it was just making the transformation seem easier for no good reason. *Edit* I really focused on back tingles because that was my problem. I don't have an issue in principle with them learning Super Saiyan. Like I said, by Cell it had just become a transformation any Saiyan can do, it didn't carry the luster Namek brought it up, which is why Toriyama had to do something different with Gohan to maintain it's dramatic impact. The way they explain how they transform is what I have an issue with. I kinda love that Cabba learned Super Saiyan from Vegeta, that Vegeta went out of his way to teach Cabba how to become a Super Saiyan. Super Saiyan doesn't mean much of anything anyway so why not use the transformation to add characterization and build relationship dynamics instead?
