Dragon Ball Z Kai Does Dragon Ball Z Kai have fewer episodes?

I am still guilty of never having watched it. I am very partial to the original DBZ and after having seen some comparisons I am not sure I would enjoy it.

I did see a few lists though and it seems like DBZ Kai has fewer episodes. If this is the case, what did they remove? Was it mostly filler or something?

Dragon Ball Z Kai has a lot less episodes than Dragon Ball Z because it has a lot less filler, that is the intention of Kai. That, and the Funimation Dub in Kai is way better than the Funimation Dub in Z is.

Unless you own Z on DVD or Blu-ray then Kai is the way to go because whatever streams of Z exist online are from Funi's remaster of it and it's a friggin' hot mess. Kai is good in English or Japanese, but once the Buu arc starts then you get the Sumitomo score. Which is fine and he's a good composer, but I just have a preference for Kikuchi's music since I feel it's more iconic. Kai is also missing a few of the insert songs because of Yamamoto's copyright infringement, but most notably Unmei no Hi Tamashii tai Tamashii by Kageyama. I don't know why this is the case and it bums me out.

It has 100% less Goku & Piccolo taking their driver's license test so I'm not sure how worth watching it truly is.

Even though the Garlic Junior Saga sucks (but not as much as GT or Super), Kai also doesn't have Maron.
