Dragon Ball: Daima - Episode 1

Episode Summary:
A giant castle in a mysterious world. Two shady Majin, Gomah and Degesu, watch a monitor. The monitor shows Goku and the others having a fierce battle against Majin Buu. Gomah and Degesu head to Earth to execute a certain conspiracy.
 
So the first episode of Daima is out now!
Its mostly expostion but considering The original series is pretty long and not on crunchyroll a bit of explanation for newer fans is needed!
We get a couple of lore reveals like Namekians being demons (which i guess explains why piccolo was one) and it takes places in between z and super!

If i had to guess episode 2 will be "Dragon Ball Babies" and in episode 3 onwards were gonna get adventure and fights in the demon realm!

And for those complaining about pacing! The Cell, Freezer and Buu arcs also had pretty slow starts with tons of slow episodes if i had to guess were gonna get two opening episodes if the 3 episode early viewing is any indication!

I mean the namekian from the demon realm seemed really nice (althpough he was senile) so i guess they are nice demons?
Piccolo wass obviously the evil of KAmi so that explainned why he was Very Evil!
They also talk about white and black magic with dende being implied to have white magic! and the senile one apparently having black magic!

So there wassnt anything specific but multiple possible explanations!

I mean the ones specifically on Namek. That is what is confusing to me.

Well they are called Majin So yeah they are Demons! (or atleast decendants)
DK Piccolo on the other hand is a demonclans Men meaning he is actually praticing dark arts and being evil!

Think Undertale or Monsters Inc. not all monsters/ Demons are Evil!

They later on introduce Fusion Bugs so who knows maybe theyll fuse again!

No he only provided an outline and corrections! And at the very least Vegetto never appeared in it!
So atleast one fusion retcon isnt his fault!
(by the way Ui also didnt appear in his story outlines!)
 
All the credits literally say "story by Toriyama, art by Toyotoro". Regardless, a "correction" here being how Kibitokai defuses would be something that would have crossed his perusal at least once.

There's a lot of excuses one can make, but Toriyama really didn't care about details like this because he just kept forgetting.

Did you ever hear of Ghostwriting? If you actually read the manga there are MULTIPLE interviews were toytaro confirmed that toriyama only guided him a bit and didnt do the story! Again Outlines! I would show you the interview but i dont have the manga in english so if you dont believe me there isnt much i can do!

So Vegetto fighting Zamasu Is not In Toriyamas outlines 100%!

I guess he wouldve brought it up however im sure its probably a retcon although not anything bad! (The BAd retcon regards majin buus creation that was actually cringe)
Honestly most people forget details sure toriyama forgets more but even my comic has some hiccups of that kind and im REEEEEAAALLY Pasionate about it!
