They are going to be using AI moving forward for voices in the franchise. There will be many, many others to follow I am sure.

This is one more thing AI is going to take away from future creative talent all because these people decided to be stupid and inject their own politics into other people's work.

Im pretty sure this is just Masako Nozawa Lending her voice data too have a google assitant!
Nowhere does it say theyre doing these for the show?
Like How should they do a goku ai Assistent... Without ai!

Although who knows there are rumors of some people in Toei being Ai Obsessesd!

A year ago it was reported that Japan is going to stop working with western voice actors because of their political injections. This is a trend that will carry out. I don't know when but this is the beginning of it. Some are suggesting they can use her voice for Goku in English too.

Western or english? Thats a big diffrence because i've never seen political insertions in german dubs (aside from english stuff carrying over?)
In of itself i would like to see nozawa be the german voice too but yeah its ai nozawa so nah!
They shpould howver use ai to bring back her voice (and old clips) in the games but only as an alternetive! Would be cool if you could play as goku with his old voice even should she die!

I am guessing it is people in the US and Canada screwing around. I never looked into it. I just know Japanese people are sick of it. Many had no idea it was happening because they didn't speak English. They do this with manga and video games too. Like they actually have Trunks saying "no cap" in the latest game. That crap is not meant to be in the game. lol

Actually, if you look at some games, some games get horrible translation, so much so people complained about some translation going awol. Its kinda like the Paper Mario thousand year door, they changed one part, and people got mad. I forget which translation was bad that people noticed.

With Thousand year door its complicated in the japanese version vivian was somewhat ambigious genderwise leaning towards being trans
Which was fully removed or made directly trans
In the remake they changed the jp version they made her directly Trans but then The English version still changed the dialouge while keeping her trans!
So eventho its not neccesarily a case of woke its still super sus!

AI is terrifying... It does make some things easier... Like, I have a team plan for the Chat GPT AI (the one that gives access to basically everything chat gpt has best to offer) and the recent developed model is very, very high in accuracy... Though I use it solely for academic purposes... And not at all to cheat, since I know I need to learn every subject the best way I can. Rather, I use it as a way to clarify some contents, to ask it to give me more examples of what couldn't be found in the book itself. Since I'm studying Chemical Engineering, there are a lot of Calculus, Analytical Geometry, Physical, Programming... So I never use it to get answers to works ofc (even so because 90% of the subject score is given through individual exams and the college make sure that cheating in the exam is not possible at all, and nobody there even wants to cheat anyway, so I need to understand the subjects). It's more to expand the knowledge, to ask it to prepare coding challenges for me so I can do the code for the program and the chat gpt (mainly the o1 preview ) to correct and point my mistakes. It's very effective for that.

But it can be used to make things so less humane. Like podcasts being made by AI, many YouTube analysis videos being AI instead of the person, who only does the script... Paintings, very realistic ones, voices imitating certain famous people in insanely good and natural ways... Now in the making an AI that creates a movie scenario like if it were recorded in the very place, with a total AI made (but surprisingly real) scenario, so directors, directing the movie loses a lot of the ,magic it had. Songs made by AI..... Ughhh I can't... It's depressing.

AI being in charge is advantageous for a corporation... They don't need to pay voice actors. If anything, it is a current capitalism situation thing where profit is just the highest factor ever.

The issue primarily revolves around the use of AI voices and the rights of voice actors, not political correctness at all. Even the Aoni Production had announced the use of AI to replicate voices, including Masako Nozawa, for use across languages and media... Which made JP (as well, showing it is an issue there too) voice actors argue that unauthorized generative AI takes their rights away.

Lots of JP actors from DB, Cowboy Bebop and FMA had already formed the "No More Unauthorized Generative AI" campaign.

So saying Japan's actions against USA voice actors are a response to "woke" translations isn't accurate... The focus is on the companies valuing profit, which sparked disagreements within even Japanese VAs... Showing it isn't an American thing. Besides, if wokeism were the problem, why'd the wokeism go away when Funimation "allowed" it?

Now that I saw his comments - I can respond from the AI perspective. Chat GPT/similar AI programs had super, super stupid AI. Tim Pool is a left-leaning person and he did live chat GPT commentary on multiple channels of his.

He exposed the bias of AI. Hell, Google was under fire because they put minorities into historical learnings of our culture. Like, putting a black man into a red cherokee. Native Americans were co-opted here. Try putting a black man as Hitler.
