Since the topic was brought up in the other thread and more people are talking about it, I figured I would share a video on it from someone who is experienced with how this kind of stuff works and why this is a bad, bad idea. I knew right from the start. This is not the first time they used kids as a front to get what they want and it won't be the last. They know damn well that these criminals will find ways around it because they have the money to do so, but for us? Well, our privacy will just go down the shitter. Pedos and those who do child trafficking won't be stopped. They find ways on platforms every day. Not too long ago, an underage girl was on Porn Hub and was being drugged and abused in multiple videos (all the more reason to give up porn and find a real woman guys...) and the viewers were none the wiser. They even featured her on Twitter... So they had no idea themselves. These types of people are like cockroaches. You can kill one but just know there are several others out there, some even hiding in plane sight and punishing everyone else because of it won't get rid of them. What will happen if this passes is that the government will have a backdoor to all your social communications online. If they decide somewhere down the line they want to start suppressing information, they will have the ability to do that. Think of Reddit and how they shadow ban people, now imagine the government doing that to you when you are trying to spread information they don't want your to. It is a very scary thing. It is sick how they twist this stuff. Just like the "war on drugs"... There is no war on them and never was. They just wanted our money.

It's disgusting that they keep trying to pass these laws under the guise of stopping something or protecting someone when the truth of the matter is typically more sinister or aimed at stripping away the right to privacy of the average person. I said it in the other thread, yes there are those who use these technologies for immoral and illegal purposes, and those people need to be dealt with, but the vast majority use it for their own security and privacy and stripping away everyones' right to privacy just to get a few assholes is not the way to go about things.

It's not possible to end encryption people fear, it can only be made illegal.
You can still connect to a VPN service outside of the US and therefore outside of US jurisdiction and there's nothing that can be done about it. That's the point of a VPN or even encrypted DNS, the spying stops at ISP level. I encourage everyone to at least change their DNS servers, you can do so here.

And if you want to block big tech giants spying, you can totally block them across the web with your hosts file. For example, block Facebook.
Check your privacy on Whoer and AmIUnique.
