To be a little fair to Musk though, he is creating more jobs by expanding his businesses into other states. I see it personally with the people he hires. Granted I see the Canadian ones, but the long term ones are residing in the state in which they work which means they need to pay federal income tax and CA state taxes if they're working there for Tesla. I've only see one for SpaceX in Texas.
