General Politics Thread

Hoping Tim is right and this doesn't get bad. If China or Russia gets involved, it won't be good. I do think Iran shouldn't have nukes so if they did indeed have them, they needed to be removed. I can acknowledge that and still not want war. I am a whamen so I am naturally not going to like war or feel good about it. I can't help it. I do not like conflict. lol

Well, if you're not willing to fight for freedom and peace, you don't really deserve it. Imagine if Iran developed a nuclear weapon. How bad that would be for the entire world. I understand and agree with not wanting Americans to die. But, we all knew what we signed up for when we enlisted. The oath I took many years ago:

"I, LividJay's firstname and last name, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I have a lot of respect for people that serve. I do not have it in me. I know what you guys sign up for and I can acknowledge sometimes this sort of thing is needed for peace or at least less causalities. I won't ever be okay with war though but I am not going to be out in the streets screaming over it. The fact that the world has gone as long as it did with relatively minor conflicts in recent years is honestly a miracle. Our history shows us how brutal things can be and times of peace should not be taken for granted.
 
So Trump pulled out and then Iran said phuck it cause the remaining countries weren't giving them enough benefits.

I wasn't even aware of this at the time cause I only started paying more attention to foreign stuff in like 2020.

Idk to me this all seemed planned for years, even prior to Trump winning the second election. It just all feels like a damned if we do, damned if we don't sort of thing like I mentioned the other day.
 
I just pray we don't lose many Americans. To many fucking people have lost their lives. I know they know what they sign up for, and probably are at peace with dying. But I still don't wanna see bodies pile up.
