Everyone talks about how good a father figure Piccolo is to Gohan but that he’s not a good enough teacher.

Everyone also talks about how good a teacher Goku is to Gohan but that he’s not a good enough father.

Well Krillin is the best of both worlds!

He showed care for Gohan during the Saiyan, Namek, and Cell Arcs, and he fought side by side with him on Namek multiple times!

I always thought they were more like bros. Which is an even weirder dynamic since Krillin would really be more of an uncle/godfather figure if he and Goku had stayed in contact following the 23rd Tournament.

The way these two are written is strange but yeah, Krillin came off as more of an older brother since the Namek days. I think they bonded a lot during that saga. He is old enough to be his father/uncle but yeah, he was for sure written in a way to be more of a brother figure for Gohan.

Yeah Krillen was there for Gohan as a kid, but I don't remember seeing them talking much in Dragon Ball Super or late Z. ( Correct me if im wrong. ). They probbaly just grew distant

They haven't been as close since on Namek. I think during the Cell saga, they started becoming distant because Krillin had "other interests" (lol) and Gohan started to bond more with his father again.

besides krillin poking fun at Gohan and Videl's relationship at the start of Buu saga thats pretty much it
