Microsoft bought up a number of dev studios and I swear every studio they touch turned to crap. Every game that gets released on day one for GamePass is loaded with problems and feels like an absolute mess. I have tried a number of them. They have ruined so many titles for me that I almost regret getting an Xbox Series S. I mean I play on it all the time but I am playing free to play games. I still haven't bougt a game for it yet and I have had since the fall of 2022. I got it cause I moved away from PC gaming.

I look at Sony and Nintendo and they both still release great exclusives (mostly) and care more about the gaming experience than Microsoft clearly does. I am seeing more and more people saying they are done with Xbox after all this and I can't blame them. I don't see there being another Xbox unless they turn this around and fast... But I just don't even see that happening.

I know there was a report that even stated if GamePass isn't a major success then Microsoft will move away from making consoles entirely and focus on nothing but gaming... Which will just end up being a major loss for them cause most of the slop their purchased studios released are buggy, unfinished, or just flat out uninteresting.

"I think Xbox is cooked sir, fr fr... no cap."

Xbox reminds me of Atari or Sega when it comes to making consoles, but at least those companies had quicker, less painful console discontinuations.

I'm consuming mass copium that Elder Scrolls 6 will be brilliant, and that they will successfully announce, produce and launch Dishonored 3.

Phil Spencer said this. it would seem they are giving up with Xboxes.

However, they signed another contract with AMD which would imply some sort of software might be coming out.

I would imagine they might go the route of Steam though and compete with Steam in that they would have something like the Steam Deck as it would be cheaper to make and easier to sell. And their games would come out on a launcher that you can sub to for access to the library or to buy the games out right.

I am actually wondering if they intend on going the way of the Switch and doing a middle ground console. I know Xbox never did handheld before so this could work for them. So have their version of the Steam Deck but have it be able to dock to TVs and for playing on PC.

Hell, I been having trouble signing into my Account today. Fought with it for daamb near 30 mins so my youngest daughter could play Minecraft.

I think I am going to go back to PC gaming (eventually) cause I just can't do PlayStation. And I do want the new Switch but that is for Nintendo staples not for everything else.

I'm a console officionado in that I like to collect them and play their exclusives, and the emulation gap is hitting harder and harder. But honestly, the only reason I bought a PS5 was for FF7 Rebirth, Kingdom Hearts 4 and Spider-Man 2.

I think once FF7R Part 3 is out, I'll probably stick to PC for a while (especially since by that point I'll probably have a million kids and no money)

PC gaming will always be cheaper in the long run. You don't need to pay subscriptions to play online. Games go on sale all the time. You don't need to upgrade everything all at once to keep up with modern games. It just makes sense for so many reasons. Also with Xbox bringing all their "exclusives" to PC, it is only a matter of time before PlayStation does the same thing. They always end up following the same trends.

There are rumours that FF7 Rebirth didn't sell quite as well because of the PS5 exclusivity and that Sony as a whole might backtrack on it.

I remembering hearing something about that. I think the whole "exclusives" thing is on its dying leg. Especially with Xbox basically forfeiting the console war.

They should have definitely released it on XBOX too. Especially since most Pixel Remasters are on there too. I'm about to play some FF8.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do it all after Part 3 and sell it as a mega-pack like Kingdom Hearts.

I also heard rumours suggestion it may release on Switch 2 which could be... interesting.

I’m not interested in the Switch 2. For once in my life I don’t see myself buying a new Nintendo system at all.

I respect gamers’ decisions to go the PC route, but as for me, I’m content with replaying retro classics.
