What I was menaing was the fact that Anime and such was considered uncool when I was younger and would get made fun for liking, but now it is everywhere and is considered cool...it bugs me more than it really should.

Going to hard disagree.

That, of course, is due to some bias, because I too haven't read the manga.

I look at it this way. I don't dislike the manga story so much as I dislike the format of a manga. I don't like comic books and I definitely don't like reading them backwards back-to-front.

I don't think you or anyone is justified in labeling the likes of Beerus and I as non-fans.

Especially Beerus, since none of us would be on this fan site talking about our favorite thing if not for her co-hosting it.

I think that more than qualifies her as a "real fan" and I, of course, think my knowledge and understanding of the anime qualifies me as well.

If we "want to call [ourselves] a fan", we have to read the manga.

How about, instead of thinking about "cutting me down", you self-reflect and admit that what you said is a jerk thing to say.

yeah....I'm going to have to say that I read the manga because people here started talking about the pretty real differences between the manga and anime. So as a fan, I wanted to see for myself what those were and what the creator had intended in his own vision. I think that's what India was trying to get at. I didn't see it as an attack on people who only watched the anime and consider them as fans.
