What I was menaing was the fact that Anime and such was considered uncool when I was younger and would get made fun for liking, but now it is everywhere and is considered cool...it bugs me more than it really should.

Going to hard disagree.

That, of course, is due to some bias, because I too haven't read the manga.

I look at it this way. I don't dislike the manga story so much as I dislike the format of a manga. I don't like comic books and I definitely don't like reading them backwards back-to-front.

I don't think you or anyone is justified in labeling the likes of Beerus and I as non-fans.

Especially Beerus, since none of us would be on this fan site talking about our favorite thing if not for her co-hosting it.

I think that more than qualifies her as a "real fan" and I, of course, think my knowledge and understanding of the anime qualifies me as well.

Your position is that of divisive elitist drivel.
 
You really took my previous post the wrong way. I really don’t know how to answer you respectfully without totally cutting you down. So I’m going to leave it alone.

What about this did I misunderstand?

Seems loud and clear to me.

If we don't read the manga, we're "fans" with parenthesis.

If we "want to call [ourselves] a fan", we have to read the manga.

You're trying to save face.

How about, instead of thinking about "cutting me down", you self-reflect and admit that what you said is a jerk thing to say.

Trying to save face? From who? you? I don't care what you think and you're sadly mistaken about what is exactly going on here between myself and other members of this forum. These are my friends and we pick on each other and give each other crap. So congratulations for being the first person on this forum since I've been a member to jump on someone and start giving them crap. Way to be THAT guy. No one on here needs you to come out of left field and start white knighting for them. Especially Beerus because if anyone were to step out of line we would hear from her directly. So kindly mind your own business next time because no one here wants, needs, or desires people finger pointing and stirring up trouble.
 
yeah....I'm going to have to say that I read the manga because people here started talking about the pretty real differences between the manga and anime. So as a fan, I wanted to see for myself what those were and what the creator had intended in his own vision. I think that's what India was trying to get at. I didn't see it as an attack on people who only watched the anime and consider them as fans.
 
I clearly didn't take offense to it. I am not bothered at all by his comment. I even responded to it. It is just banter. I think some wires were crossed is all.

No need to escalate this further.
