Jeff Bezos to step down as Amazon CEO, become chair of the board
Amazon announced Tuesday that Jeff Bezos will be stepping down as CEO, and transitioning to executive chair of the board, in the third quarter of this year.
In a move completely reminiscent of when Bill Gates did the exact same thing, Jeff Bezos has revealed he is stepping down as Amazon CEO in the third quarter of 2021, though will transition to chairman of the board to stay engaged in Amazon initiatives while focusing more on "other opportunities," likely including his various funds and The Washington Post. It's an interesting and somewhat unexpected move, since nothing has been hinted at to suggest he would make such a change, but potentially could be a good thing for Amazon...maybe...
Will be interesting to see where this goes!
