Oh geeze, glad you are okay!I did the stupid thing and didn't eat most of yesterday to the point where my blood sugars dropped to extreme lows and I had a diabetic seizure. Came to with a room full of paramedics and glass of OJ in hand...quite the experience.
So this morning I had a nice full breakfast, because I don't want that happening again![]()
I'd imagine it happens often enough for them not to think anything of it.As am I, it was a bit of a stupid move on my part not to eat for most of the day, but at least it wasn't any worse than needing a glucose drip and the embarrassment of putting yourself in that situation and costing EMS time that could be spent tending to more critical things.
I'm the same way. I don't like taking time from people that could be served elsewhere. I had to go to the ER last year because of severe pain. I put off going for 2 days and I believed what was happening was a kidney stone. I was correct but in the moment I never felt a pain that severe so I ended up going in. Luckily, they were not busy or anything.Yeah it probably does, and I'm sure to them it was just a case of done and onto the next one, I'm just one of those people that usually takes decent enough care of myself to not need that sort of intervention because I genuinely hate wasting the time of emergency services, and yet still wind up in hospitals more frequently than I care to admit.
