You can still have an opinion about something, but I always let people know that i haven't looked much into it beforehand so my opinion might not hold as much weight.

If I asked you what your opinion of astrophysics was and you knew nothing about it, having an opinion on something you don't understand seems silly. That is the point. I guess it depends on the context.

but I also feel like everyone has an opinion about something regardless of how much knowledge they have on the subject. it depends how much their opinion you validate which I personally wouldn't if they had no knowledge of it. If you get what I'm saying?
Well yeah, everyone is entitled to have an opinion on anything they want but just because you hold said opinion, it doesn't mean you are right on the subject. I feel like these days though opinions are more based on emotion than actual science and when it comes to serious topics, that can create problems. Either way, I get what you mean.
