That's one reason I do side quests (and I like to level up, explore, etc.). But my gosh, Final Fantasy XVI is the worst for this. You have like 3-5 side quests between MQ, which is fair and reasonable. Not too tricky.
Then right before the final MQ there's like 100 that appear out of nowhere.
