The "cute battles" kind of lost me. I don't watch battles for them being cute. I feel like this is going to be a kids show in the worst way possible.

I really feel like we've lost the grittiness of DBZ on a slow downhill that culminated in Toriyama giving up in Buu Saga (though we still got some gnarly stuff there). Like Super just has no edge or real impact to it. Heck, even GT had Omega impaling Vegeta.

I liked Super, mostly. I mean the Black Goku thing was great. I can tell the dial was turned up for making it more "kid friendly" though.

I just want an anime that really focuses on the manga again like DBZ did.

fr fr no cap though, Dragon Ball itself was different to Z and that was also a good thing. Super just feels way too much like an unplanned mess. And I really don't like Toyotarou's designs with the weird noses.

I get the criticism of DBS but it wasn't too different from the point where I couldn't enjoy it. This though? This feels like some sort of weird kids show for fans under the age of 10.

Original Dragon Ball wasn't exactly "cute" so much as "gag", and even that turned into more serious stuff when Toriyama introduced the Martial Arts Tournament. By the 22nd WMT, the fights had shifted to high stakes awesomeness with some gags. And everyone watched DBZ for the kick-ass stuff.

"Cute" in this sense, makes one think more Teen Titans Go than the stuff you go to Dragon Ball for.
