Majin Vegeta's sacrifice has to be it for me personally. Even if Vegeta was being an asshole before that, he went out like a champ.

I loved his talk with Trunks and when he cried, I cried with him. Such a touching moment. I think that was the point he changed completely for the good and he knew it.
It definitely has to be Vegeta's sacrifice, such a powerful moment in the series and in the buildup of Vegeta's character. I wish they'd built up the Androids a bit more, because that would have made 16's sacrifice more impactful. It was impactful, for sure, but we only got the briefest glimpse at 16's character, so while he was really not the monster he was portrayed as, etc, we didn't really get the buildup before the sacrifice to get everyone attached to him to the point it was a real blow when he died. Could also throw in one from GT in Krillin's death and 18s rage, but it was sort of underdone, so it sort of has to stay with Vegeta's sacrifice.
Those are two of my most favorite. And there's so many more. Another one for me was when Future Trunks found Gohan:
Also, in my opinion, Dragon Ball could have been way more effective like this with no Dragon Balls to bring people back to life.
Oh, and when Cell kills Trunks and Vegeta finally acknowledges his son and flips the fuck out:
This scene isn't anything to shed tears over, but it's still a powerful moment. It's also the moment where Vegeta officially became a good guy in my opinion.

I finished the cell saga now I need to buy the cell games saga. so from what I've seen it would have to be when piccolo died saving gohan in the sayian saga, because its when piccolo tells gohan that he's the only person that he could talk, talk to and that he's going to the good side. then when goku goes super sayian when krillen died by frieza.
