The only reason this was known was because those science nerds tried it
I was quiet and kept to myself. I was one of the kids they thought would shoot up a school...![]()
I'm with you on that. I went to college, granted a small one, and just got on with everything I needed to get on with, ignored the rest, but I'm certainly in no hurry to ever do that again!I could never imagine myself going to College. Looking back, High School was stressful not only because of the expectations, being an obvious step up from Middle School and all, but also interacting with other students. I was never bullied badly or anything, but I would never want to experience the immaturity as well as the clique behavior in general ever again. I'm much less social than I used to be.
Oh yes. I had them call me mom once because I had a safety pin in my skin. It was something my friend was doing, like an "oh look it is a cool piercing" thing. Didn't hurt and was stupid but they took it as I was trying to kill myself... The kids they should have paid attention to for that reason, they ignored. I sat by myself most lunches too. Got picked on by two girls who threw food at me because I wasn't eating. I just ignored them. Another time the druggy group invited me to sit with them, they felt bad and I come to find out one of them had a crush on me years later. High school was stupid and weird at the same time. lolEver get called to the counselor's office because people reported genuine concerns about you? I did. I never spoke to anybody in high school, sat by myself most places and wore either metal t-shirts or shirts that had stupid sayings on them. One day I wore a shirt that said "Can you here me now?" on it, I got called to the counselor by lunch time because people thought I was going to do something...I just wanted people to shut up about why I never talked to them...whoops.
I noticed we actually have a lot in common when it comes to our introverted ways... I think when it comes to you, it's mostly your personality being an Architect or an INTJ, but I'm an Advocate or an INFJ, so I'm more of a people person from what I've read about the two. However, I keep myself withdrawn because I really, really dislike toxic people and toxic experiences.I'm with you on that. Agreed, they never look into the people that really need looked into, but they'll spend all day making sure something stupid isn't code for something bigger. Nevermind that people get tortured by bullies, abused into doing things they don't want to do, and stress themselves silly because of high school pressures, no, let's make sure the quiet kid isn't a sociopath, because bullies are just misunderstood good kids.Oh yes. They should take on programs where 20 to 25 year olds can be counselors or something and be paid for it or maybe have some of their college/university paid for. It makes no sense for someone in their 40's or 50's to be talking to a 15 year old. It has been YEARS since they experienced high school.Agreed, they never look into the people that really need looked into, but they'll spend all day making sure something stupid isn't code for something bigger. I would agree, we do seem to have a lot of introverted tendencies in common, for sure. When I was a kid they kept trying to push me into things and social situations so I would "get over" my shyness, but I never really did and never really wanted to know people. Stayed more or less the same my whole life. I get along just fine with the people I do want to know, and I'm not super awkward in social situations when I have to interact with people, I just don't enjoy being sociable with people I don't want to be around.I noticed we actually have a lot in common when it comes to our introverted ways... Anyway, on to the subject at hand so this thread doesn't get too derailed... I believe in evolution and I believe we're animals as well as apes, even though that's basically factual. However, I also believe in Christianity and evolution doesn't get in the way of my belief system. I just wish there were more like me that believed that way too.
That would be ideal, like the whole big brothers, big sisters thing. They've got the experience of having been through it, but also a little more perspective from being a little older. Would make a lot more sense, for sure! I was into gaming and web development in high school, and that was before the dawn of MySpace or Twitter, so my counselors barely knew how to turn a computer on, let alone "surf the web" in any sort of meaningful fashion. It was "sooo coool" having someone so relatable to talk to...They should take on programs where 20 to 25 year olds can be counselors or something and be paid for it or maybe have some of their college/university paid for.
