The Pokémon anime is my absolute favorite show! I could watch it ALL day long with no problem.
The Kalos and Alola sagas are by far the most thrilling and there's so much character development and progression throughout the whole anime. I love how they put each character's goal as something important, especially with the contests and showcases.
Alola also has some epic battles and great animations that really makes everything perfect. I remember cheering like crazy during the Ash vs Kukui battle because it was so epic, intense and emotional. Pokémon has always been good at the emotional stuff and making you feel the character's emotions since it's so emphasized and all the characters are very relatable and inspiring.
Then, of course we have the Mewtwo strikes back movie which made me cry multiple times. It's my favorite movie and I could watch it multiple times. The philosophy and dark topics are all so fascinating and the battles are truly high-stake. There also isn't much cliché and puts more emphasis on Mewtwo's inner conflict than anything else.
