I was among the first to point it out when I noticed it. The mocking of the Last Supper at the France Olympic opening. I knew this painting well because my Nana had it in the dining room and every holiday I would see it. I was raised Catholic and turned against that as a I got a bit older and eventually came back to Christ through Christianity. So needless to say, it was an easy thing for me to take notice of. This was prior to even knowing what the title of the performance was.
I didn't get as offended as other people. I tend to get made for 5 minutes and go back to cat videos and maybe that is part of the issue. Christians, Catholics, and every other branch that falls under Christianity as a whole should be offended. What makes it worse is the woman in the front (the bigger gal) is a Jewish lesbian woman who was gloating about it on Instagram and quickly deleted her post when everyone was getting mad. The show's producer even had it titled as the Last Supper and then lied and said it never was. Gas-lighting doesn't work online when people can easily find receipts.
Even non-Christians, Muslims and atheists were made uncomfortable by the performance whether it be because children were part of the show or they just had the empathy to read the room on the entire situation.

This stuff will only continue to get worse if everyone just sits back and ignores it and does nothing about it. I am glad people are finally standing up for themselves and letting it be known this stuff is not and should never be okay to do to any religious group for any reason.
For this to be acceptable on an international stage is just insulting on a deep level.
