When it comes to the androids from DBZ, which would you consider your favorite and why?

This is actually hard for me to choose because I like qualities from each of them a lot. I like how 16 and 17 are both passionate about wildlife (for 17 it is shown more). 16 has a very kind way about him which is shown through his communication with Gohan. I feel like this is kind of a hat tip to his father befriending an android in Dragon Ball as a young boy. As for 18, well she is just an all-around badass in a feminine package.
 
It's hard to say. You also see different versions of 17 and 18 depending on if you're in Trunks' timeline or the normal timeline. The versions of 17 and 18 in Trunks' timeline seem more sadistic and evil. I really like how human 16 seems when he's not trying to kill Goku. And, of course, Android 18 is pretty bad ass, as you stated. I always thought of Android 17 as kind of a punk. Not sure I like him in any of his incarnations.

I like #16 the best. He was intended to be the ultimate android by Gero (outside of Cell). And that shows because he's far stronger than #17 and #18.

With that said, #16, #17, #18, #20, and #8 are all good characters in their own right. The only one I don't like anything about is #19.
 
This is like asking to choose between my children. But luckily I'm a terrible parent and have a clear favorite, Android 17! The reason I most want to watch Super is because I know he returns in it and does stuff, I want to see that stuff. I always loved his more carefree personality, and how he wasn't necessarily evil, just bored and doing stuff for the fun. You want to know what I love, I love him insisting the drive a crappy pink van on their travels to find Goku because that'd be more fun. One of my favorite moments is when they're driving off-road through some woods because 17 enjoyed it more then 18 decides to just blow everything in front of them up so it'd go quicker and not be as bumpy, and 17's all like "you're no fun". He really feels like a reckless teenager. His fight with Piccolo is my favorite in the series, and I love the little sense of camaraderie between him & Piccolo once Cell came in. ALSO, he was voiced by Chuck Huber, who also voiced Hiei, and that helped a lot.

Love 18 too (second favorite), and loved 16 third. I love the three's dynamic, and they're three of my favorite characters in the whole series.

Honestly my favorite Android is #17. Although I did like how Human Android 16 seemed even though he did want to Kill Goku
