Nothing against the current remake, but I'd rather just have the original remastered in a modern graphics engine.

#1: Don't even touch the pre-rendered backgrounds. Just make the character models, cutscenes, and UI better. Not just barely better like the remaster we got either.

#2: Don't touch the music either.

#3. Fix bugs like the W-Item glitch.

#4. Re-balance/buff Sephiroth so that he's not such a pushover.

#5. Rebalance other things like making KotR not broken and Mime incompatible with it.

#6. Add a difficulty option, with XP, AP, & Gil perks.

That's it. That would make me almost cry tears of happiness. But unfortunately, they decided to go the "from the ground up" route and that makes me sad.

The gorgeousness of Tifa, Aerith, and Jessie is a small consolation for any hurt feelings. Sorry, I’m such a pushover. I love ladies.

The new game, visuals and graphics wise, looks incredible. I'm sure that, in its own right, it's a good game... but as someone who grew up playing it and holds a special place for the original, I'd rather have an improved original than what we got.

I was 14 years old when FF7 released on PS1. It holds a special place in my heart as well. We already lived what made it special. I’m willing to leave some room for something different to compliment what made that special for me. I think I found it in remake Tifa’s tiddies. 😭They’re so beautiful!
 
I haven't played it yet, but still looking forward to it. I'm usually pretty open-minded about these things, but I understand your sentiment.
