Because some of us really don't care, and would rather ingest moderately entertaining anime that we can understand than have to consult the subtitles every two seconds.
Because essentially the Japanese version and the Funimation English version are two different shows. So there are going to be different groups of fans, some that are attracted to what the original show has to offer and some that are attracted to what the Funi show has to offer.
Also as suggested above there are many fans who are more casual viewers and are not interested or invested enough in the show to care about whether any other versions exist.
And in all honesty, I'm one of those people who thinks the dub improves on some of the comedy. There's some great throwaway lines in the original Dragon Ball that only exist in the dub.
I mean the original Dragonball was relativly Good!
Afterall it keeps the original score!
But removing dan dan from gt AND mocking Fans of it is ABSOLUTLY unforgivable!
I mean i watch Anime duubed to but only if the dub respects the sourcee material!

But theyre not supposed to be a dub should be relativly Acurate! (not fully acurate tho)

At the end of the day, the plot is essentially the same, just the names and meanings of some things are occasionally turned around by the dialogue. I don't care if Tuffles aren't a thing or if there's some cringe dubbing.

After all he Assainated some Characters had no plans in puncto plot with tons of Plotholes too!
But to be fair GT did change the Happy ending of Toriyamas DB so yeah theres that!
That ad isn't cringy enough, they needed to go full 4Kids One Piece rap and it would've been the stuff of legends.
I will note that I have only seen GT dubbed, so maybe that's why I didn't like it at all. But when I go back to watch it, I'm watching it dubbed. I believe the sub is better, I watch sub 90% of the time but I've grown up with Dragon Ball dubbed. When I look at Kid Goku, I think of Stephanie Nadolny's voice. I've got my lifetime with that voice attached to Kid Goku, it just wouldn't feel right to watch it any other way.

Having been watching the Funimation dub of One Piece, I really feel like I've missed out on the 4Kids version.
I'm actually thankful I got into One Piece later than I did Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Bleach considering.
One Piece actually seemed kind of stupid when I heard about it as a kid, and saw some of the promo images. But having gotten nearly halfway through the manga, I'm thankful I gave it a shot.
