It's a tough one to beat. Especially how it happened. It wasn't some far-fetched reason. He just lost his best friend and his rage drove him to this point. I'll never forget that scream...his pupils going away in rage and returning in green as his golden aura flashes over his face and his hair turned blonde....it was epic, for lack of a better word. It was this moment we saw Goku lose himself in a moment. All his good nature was gone and it was clear, this was the end of Frieza. He eventually calmed down a bit once he realized Frieza couldn't beat him and even gave him a second chance. When Frieza threw that away, Goku swiftly annihilated him.
I don't think we've ever seen a moment similar to this after that. Even Gohan going SSJ2, while epic in its own right, was nothing close to it.
I would say Gohan going SSJ2 in the Manga is better than Goku going Super Saiyan in the Manga. However, Goku going Super Saiyan in the Anime is way better than Gohan going SSJ2 in the Anime.
Perfect Cell, nice. Do like this transformation, it's one of Vegeta's better "I'm so awesome, oh whoops I fucked up" moments.
A lot of people hate on Gohan or Piccolo for becoming weaker, but Vegeta has done some pretty stupid stuff himself. Like letting Cell become Perfect and becoming Majin.
Anyway, I think we all know Perfect Cell is built up better and is a more charismatic transformation than True Form Freeza, which is a great transformation in its own right, so no real surprise when it comes to its placement here.
