So I dont know if you guys listen to the Kanzenshuu podcast, but it was an early episode and they were talking about name pronounciations. The one that made the most sense to me was Turlesses name. They were talking about how if you say Turles, it dosnt keep the food pun in. Though if you say "Tulles" it keeps true to the food pun names. Tulles is the rearangement of the word lettuce so it would be a better way of speaking in the dub's context, since basically lettuce is spelled the same way in japanese and english.

It all boils down to the different pronunciations certain letters have in English versus Japanese. We speak a language that has letters they don't, we don't have double vowel sounds, or double consonant sounds like they do. So naturally it has to be modified if slightly to sound correct to the English speaker's ear. If you tried to pronounce them on a one for one it would just make you go...

Technically, it should be Tullece but FUNimation made it Turles. I am not sure why but that is what we got! :confused2:
