Theoretically, if Dr Gero survived, then could he have taken beerus's, or even whis's DNA and become the most powerful thing alive? Just a random thought I had.

I don't think he would be able to get a hold of Whis' or Beerus' DNA without Whis seeing it coming.
Maybe not his, but if he created a robot the size of a fly, and used it to bite beerus, I don't think he would notice, so theoretically he could create a beerus clone, or something even stronger.
I think this depends on a lot of complex things. Like if this was the case, why not just go after Zeno? I feel like angels and gods can't have their DNA altered or used.
Agreed, I'd be shocked if a deity's DNA could be taken or used in any way. Possibly Goku's when he was SSG or SSGB, maybe, but I'd doubt he could steal a genuine deity's DNA.

Assuming that Angels are fully organic beings which I believe they are since the GP fathered all the known Angels through means of makin' da sex. Gero wouldn't be able to steal Beerus or Whis' energy because look at what happened to Moro when he tried in the manga? It overwhelmed his body to the point where he was going to explode and take the whole Earth down with him. That was from Merus who was a lesser Angel than Whis.
We can only assume at this point since there is no way to truly gauge how strong they are other than Toriyama's words and Vados and Whis talking about themselves in respect to one another in the series. Toriyama said SSG Goku was a 5, Beerus was a 10, and Whis is a 15. So if Mastered UI Goku still isn't stronger then Beerus then Whis still completely on another level.
The way it seems, only Whis' father is stronger than him and second to him is possibly his twin sister? But yeah, no one really knows.
We don't know if any of their other brothers or sisters are stronger. I mean Marcarita seems fairly cocky so she might be pretty close in strength to Whis and Vados.
