Dragon Ball Z What if Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball in general ended after Vegeta's ultimate sacrifice?

Just imagine if Dragon Ball Z ended after Vegeta had sacrificed his own life to redeem himself and defeat Majin Buu and once the sacrifice was made, Majin Buu was completely defeated and no longer a threat, but Vegeta could not be brought back to life.

Sure, Akira Toriyama would NEVER give a definite end to Dragon Ball where Vegeta comes out on top as the hero who saved the day instead of Goku.......but just imagine if that was the ending and Toriyama decided to wrap everything up after that.

Would this have been a much better ending than the ending of Z that we got instead? Would the Majin Buu Saga be much better regarded by fans if Z and Dragon Ball in general ended after Vegeta's heroic sacrifice?

I wouldn't of liked Vegeta dying at the end but the way things go, you would have to assume that they would have wished him back after the fact.

Had the entire series ended at the point, I don't think it would have changed people's minds about the saga who already didn't like it, if anything they would have liked it even less. We would have missed out on Vegito which is one of the most liked aspects of the saga by a lot of people.

I think it would have been meaningless, and a insult honestly. The entire Dragon Ball World, for a lack or better terms, was built around Goku and his adventures not really Vegeta. I will say if Vegeta scarfing himself to protect Goku while he gathered energy for the Gaint Spirit Bomb, then it would have been a good and thoughtful ending since Vegeta, the man who hates Goku, gave his life to protect Goku's and others in order to save the world.

I feel like Vegeta didn't become a protagonist after sacrificing himself against Fat Boo, but when he ended his bitter rivalry with Goku against Kid Boo.

So it would have been a lot worse than the ending we got.

Yeah, I think it was really important for Vegeta to admit Goku was the best. With that, going into Super, he worked hard to become more or less an equal.
