What if there were other humans out there?

Everyone always talks about aliens and the possibility of other life being out in space but very few have talked about actual humans being on other planets already. What if we discovered other humans? How do you think people would react to that?

There would be some existential crises among some, an explosion of conspiracy theories, demands for testing of the other humans to see if they're descended from Amelia Earhart, a lot of countries interested in how to even approach, attempts at trade (assuming these humans evolved a similar economic system to ones we use here on Earth), and probably a mess ton of cultural exchange and exoticism pointed at one another.

I'd be more curious if they'd be like us with multiple states or a single state planet, and just how much like us they'd be.

But what if we are just offspring of clones? So there technically isn't another you out there physically. And all of history as we know it has been a lie and really, humans destroyed everything on the planet several times over and we just keep getting reseeded to harvest minerals and such for the real humans?
