Dragon Ball Super Where the fudge is the anime series?

The movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is coming out sometime in 2022. We know this.

What I am thinking about though now is since this clearly takes place in the future... Are they just going to skip everything that happened in the manga when the anime returns and pick up where this movie ends? That would seem rather silly. I am a bit confused the more I think about this though. Like most, if not all fans want to see what has happened in the manga in the anime... But the strange time skip for the movie seems odd considering they haven't even announced the anime's return.

I am feeling like it may not return at all at this point, other than in the form of movies... OR if it does, it won't be for another 2 years which is annoying.

It is odd that they haven't at least announced they're working on the anime, or that it's on hiatus, or...whatever it is that's going on. They just left it completely. Hopefully they'll announce something as we get into 2022.

To be fair, if this is going to be marked as canon, I don't think there's anything contingent on the time placement of the manga that will be effected if this is a time skip.

I would figure the manga is currently in late Age 781 or early 782. This movie is probably very late Age 782 or sometime in Age 783. So it's going to depend on what happens at the conclusions of the Granolah arc to help us determine where we're at in relation to the movie and EoZ. I don't see them beginning a new arc after Granolah, but it's possible they might and at the conclusion of said arc the Super Hero movie would probably occur. Just like the Broly did between ToP and the start of the Moro arc.

There's still plenty of timeframe left for them to use up in a future anime before they hit the EoZ. I think we'll probably get a better idea about an anime return after the Super Hero movie because they're giving Toyotaro breathing room to crank out some arcs that they can adapt directly from the manga instead of going off outlines and creating their own material like they did with the first run of Super. As we can see it had mixed results. We'll get some hints in 2022 about the anime, but I wouldn't bank on it returning before 2023 or at worst 2024.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. If it does return, it wouldn't be until like 2024

It's been kind of a public secret for a while that Toei wants to push out movies because they make a lot more money than the anime does in terms of overall revenue. This is speculation on my part, but next movie will probably go beyond the End of Z. There's still 5 years from that point in time until the GT debut, but I for-see them killing off GT in continuity with probably the movies in the next few years.
