I saw some recent videos about the Ocean Dub, and I remember watching it, when I was super young. Personally, I could watch the series either way.

There are just a few Funamtion actors, that I can't live without. Linda Young, Chuck Huber, Meredith McCoy, Jeremy Inman, Kent Williams, and Tiffany Vollmer. Everyone else is interchangeable.

Ocean has a lot of memeable and memorable moments. And honestly I don't mind some of the censorship workarounds (HFIL being Chief among them).

But Funimation is miles better.

But thats his name...
Like videl is just devil rearanged, pan is also named after a devil of some kind!

Thats like having and issue with vegeta and calling him zeus instead!

It also fits his character as like the devil hes a deciever who decieved an entire planet abd basically ruined the tournament obvs. He becomes a grear fella but still!


In general a lot of dub names across funimation and ocean suck ass!

Like why would you rename toma as tora are you mad!

Most dbz names are already based on english words so why change them?

Hercule, Krillin, Special Beam Cannon, Destructo Disk.

All bad-ass names.

I prefer Makankosappo and Kienzan for Special Beam Cannon and Destructo Disk respectively, but I can understand why Funimation didn’t use them instead.

Atleast use something like special hell spiral like in german special beam cannon is super generic!

I do wonder why we use destructo disc in german tho maybe that name came from europe or mexiko?

Other then that i cant point on a single english dub only thing that made it into the new games!

Funnily krillin is used in anime only so thats probably also not from you

However both manga and games use kuririn ?

German also uses saiyajin instwad of like saiyaner probably cause that sounds bad!

Namekseijin/namekjin are called namekianer in germany tho granted that sounds much better then saiyaner
