Why Typhlosion Is Actually Better Than Charizard

1. It has the same stat distribution as Charizard, but is a pure Fire Type with no Flying Type handicap, especially against Stealth Rock.

2. It has a better movepool. For example, it can learn Thunderpunch, and not just SolarBeam, which can be countered more easily.

Those two reasons are enough for me personally. Do you agree or disagree?

I disagree because Charizard is more boss.

But I'm a genwunner with a lot of love for Gen2. If you'd said any other gen starter was better you'd be completely wrong.

I used to think so too. But Typhlosion even looks more original and better overall than Charizard too, since Charizard is just your basic European Dragon.

I love both Generation 1 and Generation 2 equally now. I used to go back and forth when it came to me preferring one over the other. Objectively, I think Generation 2 and Generation 3 are equal in quality, however.

I love the Cyndaquil Line After all it was my first Starter I Used!
(To be fair i think i attempted some runs with Totodile but i never got past the first Gym with it!)
But its a real Shame rthat they took away trhe flames of Thyplosion in spome games!

I love the Chikorita line too. It's a very underrated line. Both Venusaur & Charizard and Meganium & Typhlosion look good with both Red and Gold respectively too. Blastoise and Feraligatr look worse with them though, especially Feraligatr with Gold.

Mostly agree. In the anime, the whole Charmander->Charizard character arc is probably my favourite in the series, and Charizard's playable in Smash which helps him a lot. But in terms of playing them in a Pokémon game, my heart goes to Typhlosion. Gen 2 was my Pokémon, and the Cyndaquil line was my favourite of the starters. I also loved Totodile, went through the game with both lines.
