Short Term Goals

If you haven't yet, look into the PR comics that have been put out. I think by Boom studios. They did a really good job at expanding the universe and making it more grown-up.

Also, if you haven't, watch the original Japanese versions. Especially, Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. It was much darker than the American version.
I've watched some of the Super Sentai versions, they are SO much better, but I was such a fan of the cheesy storylines of PR that I just had to stick with them growing up. I did like the ones where the Rangers were Angels, and then Pirate Angels and they had to stop their enemies...can't remember which series that was, but they were good episodes! Also watched the one where all of the past rangers reunited and it was so much more impactful in the Japanese version with all of the older series that never came to the US in them...really good.

Haven't heard of the comics, but I will try to look into them, I could get into a more grown up version, for sure!

Yeah I have had guys say some pretty piggish things to me. I ignored it. I was the one who went after Jay actually. He didn't show me any signs of being interested. I just told him I liked him and went from there. He thought his friends (the other mods/admins) were messing with him too. lol Only one member knew I was going to say anything and he advised me to go for it. I am glad I did.

Yeah, it's really shitty that people don't have common sense online and jump on the chance to be pigheaded towards any female member of a community. It takes a while to find the good ones, but much like here when you find good people with common interests, it becomes a real community that you want to be a part of, which is awesome. Finding a relationship and a partner out of that is rare, but I have to imagine it's a great thing, considering the relationships I'm aware of are still going strong.

LOL true that. I used to be called a boy though and told to come back when my balls drop. I just went along with it. I used to play online with a guy and his girlfriend. Me and her would laugh our butts off over what they would say to me. I guess I sound like a boy through a headset. lol

Nah, they just didn't want to believe they were getting their asses handed to them by a girl. Hurts their preciously fragile masculinity. So getting beat by a little boy is apparently better...I don't know why people online think they have to act like completely shitheads, but gaming, social media, etc...people have lost all semblance of common sense and decency.

Also the age old stereotype that girls don't play games, so you couldn't have been a girl. One of the girls I used to game with always turned it around on the person harassing her to use the old stereotype that only fat nerds eating cheetos in their mothers' basement played games, so that's who she must have been beating...they tended to shut up after that. Quite hilarious! I envied her ability to shut them up, but also hated that she had to deal with that bullshit in the first place. Games are meant to be fun, it doesn't matter who you're playing against so long as you're having fun. I don't care if a girl kicks my ass in a game, because she's usually more fun than the camping douchebag guys that scream down the mic the whole game and flood your inbox afterwards because clearly you weren't better than them, you just cheated. It's why I don't bother with headsets or mics in gaming anymore...hate talking to people in game. Screw that, I want fun!

LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP! Chi Chi would approve.

Of course, she's the punishment. A cell and a Chi-Chi.

LOL I was a Sailor Moon fan.... :pissed:

Didn't say it in a negative way, just the fact that it's fairly harmless in the context of the PC police. Nothing offensive in it, really.

Oh for sure. One of the first forums I joined, I got harassed. Like they couldn't believe I was a woman. They called me a liar and made fun of me and often ridiculed me over it. Seeing how people act on social media these days, I should have seen it becoming what it is today lol

I never understood that myself. I grew up playing video games and often got made fun of for it by other girls. When I said I was a woman in a chat though, the guys playing wouldn't believe me anyways so that is why I just pretended to be a boy and went along with it. I would say "I'm a real boy" like Pinocchio and get the people I am playing with the laugh. I had fun. If they want to get bent out of shape because a human with a pair of tits beat them up, they got a lot of growing up to do lol

That's why I have a policy on my own forums, or any forums that I help in running (...at my peak I was a part of about 20 forums in a staff capacity at the same time...not a clever move! I loved forums, though :D) that if any member is found to be harassing another member, and we had a lot of them over the years, for things such as persistent trolling, sexual harassment, sexual orientation harassment, a couple of trans members got harassed pretty badly, etc., then they would be banned immediately and permanently. Can't stand that crap, and I hate that it happens to people, it's not like it's impossible for a woman to work the internets machine, or gay people, or trans people, or whatever the case may be, and what in the hell does it matter to you what someone else is, anyway? Not like talking to someone who is a different sex, race, orientation, or gender identity is going to 'rub off' on you (oh noes! I talked to a black lesbian woman, my skin's darkening and I'm growing tits!). Idiocy and ignorance, hate those types of people.

Women can beat me with their tits anytime...

Err, I mean, yeah, I don't know where the stereotype started or why it became so persistent. I know when I first started getting into games female gamers were certainly rare, but they definitely existed. My next door neighbor when I was 8 was a gamer and she played her SNES daily, some awesome games, too! Why guys online get so disillusioned as to think women don't or can't play games, especially in this era where literally everyone does (oh but girls only play Animal Crossing, right? Can't possibly play an FPS or an MMORPG), is just mind boggling. At least you managed to take it in stride and run with it, but it irks me people treat other people that way because they're so insecure in themselves and their masculinity that they can't stand the thought of not being the alpha male and can only be beaten by other alpha males.

This is one of the reasons why I opted to just make this an adult forum. I don't want kids on here and I don't want adults who act like kids. I expect people to disagree about things but I also expect them to be adults about it. If you come on here just to make fun of someone for any reason be it gender, orientation, lifestyle choices, medical conditions, whatever then I won't put up with it. Children tease and pick on people, adults are meant to be beyond that. Banter is one thing but both people have to be on board for that to be okay. I had a running joke with a member on another forum where he made fun of me for being white and I made jokes about him stealing my bike (he was black). Called me a racist and everything. We were joking about it but you can't do that today without someone getting carried away with it. This is why having a close community where everyone can feel included is important and you lose this on places like Reddit, Twitter, etc. and that is why places like that breed hatred and a whole mess of trouble.

I see this kind of behavior more on games like CoD and less on games you would think would have it like WoW but I haven't played that in years so things may have changed. I know right? I play the Sims. I think that game has like an even split between their players, maybe even more female ones at this point. Shocker!!

Oh lawd... Just imagine if Karens of the world united to fight. People are worried about the left and the right... That is the real danger to America right there. LOL

Totally agreed, and it's the right move to keep it to adults only. Kids completely lack that filter that tells them "ya' know, there's fun, and there's pushing things too far." Some adults definitely lack that, too, but at least you get the pleasure of a swift Hakai to the face to get rid of them ;).

Banter is a lot of fun when both are on board, and I'd hope that if I was involved in something like that and the other person was less ok with it, they could send me a message and it'd stop immediately. If they're not having fun with it, you're just bullying them at that point. I've always found that massive communities are hard to create that real community feeling in, it's only happened once for me with a massive forum (150,000+ members), and that was one I joined very early, so Twitter, Facebook, etc...they're never going to create communities because they're gigantic cesspools and the good are quickly drowned out by the terrible there. Forums > social media by a country mile.

CoD is probably the most toxic community in gaming, for sure, but sadly it's not the only toxic community. Anything that encourages competition in any way, it makes people just go nuts...don't get it, don't like, so I don't participate :D. Makes me enjoy story/campaign modes that much more, though!

Oh lawd... Just imagine if Karens of the world united to fight. People are worried about the left and the right... That is the real danger to America right there. LOL

It's Karen Time! Starbucks Karen! Walmart Karen! Parking Lot Karen! Stop that black person moving into their home Karen! Police brutality for telling me to move on when I'm being an asshole Karen! We are...the Karen Rangers! Time to summon the Karen Zords! Let's bring them all together, it's the Mega Karen! Here to ask for your mega manager, right now!

Oh yeah, I suppose after all that rambling I should've actually posted some short term goals.

-Get guardianship over my mother, to handle her affairs before things get too far down the spiral.
-Find a part-time programming job to get myself back into the industry I left 5 years ago to look after my mother so I have a career when the inevitable happens.
-Work on getting the Covid weight off, damn thing's been a nightmare...
-...also find some pretzels...

So I managed 3 days and already noticed changes. After the two days, after 40 min of rebounding, I would have to sit for 10 min cause I was out of breath and hurting. Today, day three, I was able to go get a bottle of water from the fridge and move the rebounder back to where I keep it right away without feeling like I would pass out. The only thing I don't like about exercising is sweating. I feel gross. lol

I'm pissed about Trump "losing" in 2020 for plenty of reasons, but the one thing I'm thankful for is that this lockdown will seemingly go away.

I sure hope so. If it does, I will be proved right and I can rub it in my mom's face. LOL I been telling her since the beginning it is a political power move. Masks don't seem to be going anywhere though. Just ask Razer. I should make a thread for that actually.
