Dragon Ball GT Anyone remember the GT follow-up special about Goku's great grandson?

About a year before Super was announced, I recall there being a special of sorts about Goku's great grandson, where he goes on his first adventure and crosses a mountain or something.

I actually really liked the prospect of it being sort of a soft-reboot of the franchise.

I thought at first that Super was going to be that actually.

Does anyone else remember this?

Yeah, Hero's Legacy. Goku Jr. goes on a quest to save Grandma Pan, it's about the only thing attached to GT that's salvageable as a good storyline.

It was kind of sad to see that Goku and Vegeta’s families drifted apart over time. Pan and Bulma’s ancestor (I believe her name was Bulma Leigh) didn’t recognize each other at the tournament.

It would have been so cool to see Raditz and Nappa become Z Fighters and have families of their own. Raditz's legacy would also be related to Goku's, think about that.

I think MasakoX is doing a fair job with R&R that respect. Although to be critical and echo some criticism, people don’t like how Raditz and Ranch have just been shoe horned in place of other characters.

It is my hope going forward that Toei is able to come up with a legacy series one day that deals with the main DB descendants. They built a nice sand box to play in regarding different universes. I may do something like that myself one day because there’s always more story to tell!

I remember it. I thought it was okay. Like the story felt like it was bringing Dragon Ball full circle with some of the nods they did to the OG series but I prefer keeping Vegeta and Goku around, even if Goku is a complete idiot half the time. lol
