I gotta say, I love the inspiration he pulls from and the ideas he gets for character names and other references in the show.
To be fair, a lot of Japanese artist do this Other examples would be Jojo and One Piece.I gotta say, I love the inspiration he pulls from and the ideas he gets for character names and other references in the show.
Yeah I know, Pokemon does it too.To be fair, a lot of Japanese artist do this Other examples would be Jojo and One Piece.
It's an interesting little insight in who Launch actually might be and why because we know so little about her.Kind of makes sense the violent personality would use masculine pronouns. A timid girl who went through something traumatic could create a hyper-masculine alter-ego to compensate for her perceived weaknesses.
Maybe if Toriyama remembers herAgreed, makes you wonder what happened in her past, maybe one day we'll finally learn the truth?
Then who are we going to get to lead baseball centric episodes?True. Just throw Yamcha into oblivion and bring Launch back!
Well it's not like Gohan's doing muchThen who are we going to get to lead baseball centric episodes?![]()
Just to piggy back on the east vs west gesture comments. Does anyone know why in Dragon Ball you've seen Goku beckoning someone like this? The spaceship landing spot is a neat fact, but I'd never considered the fact that winking is such a western-oriented gesture. I'm not sure it is these days, given how globalized the world is, but for the time frame, it definitely would have been. A neat tactic to help create cultural separation between two vastly different characters.
