Teddy's birthday is today, he turned 1.

I thought I would be slick and put together his new toy while he was sleeping and he heard me. So needless to say he got that earlier. I was wrapping his little toys with catnip and he was screaming at me hanging off my shirt and legs trying to get them from me lol He has to wait until after we eat dinner.

I am once again begging you and Jay to have (or adopt or something) real children. :haha:

We have yet to buy a house to even consider finding out that we can't afford children. lol

I want to adopt as I think I am past the age of comfort to get pregnant and there is a chance I may not be able to anyways.

I have looked into the cost and... yikes. We will have to figure stuff out. There is a business plan in the works so fingers are crossed for that.

Also so I don't seem like some crazy childless cat lady, my dad used to take me shopping for the pets for Christmas every year. I was able to buy each animal in the house a gift. On birthdays my mom would buy them stuff. So this isn't spawning from some sort of "childless cat lady and proud" thing. It was cemented as family tradition.

All that to say I absolutely am a crazy cat lady. I don't hate kids though. lol

Yeah that can be a real pain. We can just cover everything with my wife's maternity leave payments, but if either of us made reasonably less we'd be in trouble.

That said, we own two mortgaged houses so that makes things trickier.

I think 36 is considered geriatric, but I think women are generally okay until around 45 (pending other health issues). My first girlfriend's mother had her youngest at like 46, and the second youngest around 42.

What sort of business? Or is that hush-hush secret squirrel?

That is simultaneously weird and adorable.

I guess that's the distinction. It is often lost that fertility issues tend to abound, and some people focus that maternal instinct on pets when it's not in the cards for whatever reason...

But gosh darn, feminists and anti-natalists do not help the cause.

The economies are just insane everywhere in the world since covid. We are going to be buying a house in 2021 but decided to wait cause everything was still a mess and then interest rates shot up, inflation hit, ect. ect.

I don't know how you guys are swinging two mortgages , especially in Australia. :shock3:

Yeah I know but most women don't have anxiety with health fears to the extent I do. It sucks.

Some cloud business with his friend, idk I am illiterate in that area. lol

It is silly but you'd be surprised by the number of people that do this stuff, even when they have kids. Maybe it is an American thing, idk lol

I may be insane and obsessed with cats, but I am not retarded. :haha:

Well my house was cheap when I bought it, so even when interest rates went up it wasn't that bad. And my loan's on a fixed-variable rate, so it caps out at a certain point.

I dunno, all of the TikTok's I see... :haha:

They want a remote cloud administrator for Azure or something?

loljks, I'm sure Jay is avoiding any Microsoft product

Some of my wife's extended family with pets are a bit more cutesy with them. That said, both her brother and cousin (who are mostly the culprits) both have babies now, so I assume the craziness is dialled back a little.

To the best of his ability, he will be. Bill Gates can kick rocks!

You can assume all you want, it likely just got replicated with the children. :haha:
