Fan Game - Goku's Tale (2024 September - v1.0)

It's been a month. So what am I doing now?

I've been slowly working through from the start in my free time. I've been making a few changes and discovered a few bugs. Perhaps the most egregious is I forgot to change a variable that allowed you to go to King's Castle right from the start (and consequently fight King Piccolo a few years too early) :piccolopalm:

Tonight I've been working on giving Goku a tail. So far it's... actually not too bad.

I also need to try and figure out an issue where sprite sheets will occasionally bleed into the one next to it for some reason. I think this may be an RPG Maker issue and may not be necessarily solvable.

Anyway, that's all that's of note for v0.1 for now (more specific details in the changelog).

Goku's Tale 2
Yes. I'm doing that thing everyone does. Basically I've taken the original engine and maps and am working my way through it (verrrryyyyy slowly). Take note of that weird "End" symbol on the first screenshot. That is a shortcut to Fly (which probably won't be accessible from outside the overworld). This will replace the Nimbus, and will (hopefully) have a unique animation per each character.

Unnamed Dragon Ball RPG
This is something I've been playing with on and off for a few years. Basically it's inspired by Dragon Age Origins. There are a handful of different "origin" starting storylines that will eventually converge into the main. This may likely never see the light of day, but... here it is.

Anyway, in addition to somewhat having a little bit of a life... this is the stuff I've been working on. :bulmatea:
 
Pilaf Saga - Complete

Notable fixes and changes so far:
-
Goku now has a tail as necessary
- Started fixing "pixel bleeding" from sprite sheets (ie random lines appearing in corners on certain sprites)
- Added sound FX and background noises to a few locations (Oozaru now roars!)
- Fixed some of Puar's behaviour when he appears as an enemy

Still no ETA on v1.0, but just giving a general "this hasn't been forgotten".
 
I mean yeah that is good. Just have to make sure you don't build up a toxic fan base or else Sweet Baby will have to fix your problematic white supremacist game.
Blame Akira Toriyama. Which I mean, considering a good chunk of Dragon Ball's content, I'm surprised they didn't cancel him before he died.

They tried but when you have millions of fans in basically every country and from all walks of life, you are going to have a hard time getting it done. lol

I have download it and seen at you changed at begin think also... it look now at more natural.
Yeah, it's got a number of improvements up to the first Tournament.

If you've completed the whole thing before, I advise waiting for 1.0 (unless you really like it)

Play-testing to the end of the 21st Tournament is just about done. I got through most of it before remembering I'd added audience noises to the 23rd one, so I need to add those and test it again. :piccolopalm:

Have fixed a few aesthetic things, which is nice (Yamcha and Oolong won't be awkwardly standing mid-step when I'm through). I've also added knocked-out animations for Giran and Nam, so that looks a little more natural (Bacterian still stands there looking like a fat idiot though).

Playtesting for WMT21 is now actually complete. I also took the opportunity to correct a few other issues - more notably, Jackie Chun now attacks Goku more frequently. He had a proclivity to stick to spamming Afterimage (which raises evasion 20%). All my playtesting was easy to cheese.

At this stage, winning can still be done without having to grind, but it's a lot closer.

Hello, quick question. At the start of the game, when Bulma throws the DynoCap to create a camp-house the screen goes white and the game freezes. I played the game in an older version and that never happened. Is it a bug?
