Favorite Dragon Ball Saga

I for some reason thought that I answered this before, but I guess not
lol.

I’m gonna answer my favorite from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super, and then my overall at the end.

Dragon Ball: There’s a lot of great choices tbh. King Piccolo is great, 22nd Budokai has some good stuff, that Goku and Tien fight, is wonderful as fuck. Then the 23rd is great also with Goku and Piccolo Jr. but I think I’ll give the edge to, the 22nd, but honestly those 3 are all top notch.

Dragon Ball Z: So for the longest, it was The Garlic Jr Saga. Which I am sure doesn’t get said much. I still like it and would rank top 3 in DBZ for me. But Cell Saga is what I gotta say. When I did a rewatch back around 2010, the Cell Saga hit hard for me. Everything from when he first showed up as Imperfect Cell to end of the Cell Games was top notch story building and telling.

Dragon Ball Super: It’s gotta be either Goku Black or Tournament of Power. Goku Black became one of my favorite villains in the whole franchise, but damn the TOP was so fun and had me on the edge of my seat every single week. I think, I’ll give the slight edge to Goku Black

Overall: of the 3 sagas I chose between the 3 series, Cell is my favorite.

To just pick one from GT also. Shadow Dragons. Closely followed by Baby Saga.

But... why? I feel like the more I come back to it, the more often I skip it (aside from the Vegeta side-story).
Cause like honestly I just like the whole concept behind being able to just turn everyone evil. When it was my favorite I was a kid, and that helps it still hold a special place in my heart because it reminds me of when I first was getting into the anime.

That's fair. It is an interesting saga (as in Goku is not there at all, they have to save themselves) and the fact that they're handicapped down to three characters (two of which aren't Saiyans) is pretty good. The Faulconer soundtrack is straight fire all the way through.

It just drags on way too long which is why I struggle to watch it.

It could go with being a little bit shorter, I can understand that complaint tbh. Give it just maybe 2-3 episodes and call it a day haha

Honestly The Galactic Patrol/Moro Saga has to be one of my favorite Dragon ball arcs of all time because of how much it built upon the T.O.P. and then completed the pieces that didnt quite fit at the time.

I’ve not seen any of that yet. I been hoping for the anime to return….but I might have to eventually just read what happens. Surely since the manga and anime have a lot of differences for Super anyway.

I think the abridged Freeza Saga and even the abridged Saiyan Saga are both better than the abridged Cell Saga.
