General Politics Thread

Oh, Steven posted a statement earlier. Not sure what to make of that.

So I guess my follow up comments:
- People think this is going to be some sort of trick to out Hilary's mental health evaluations
--- Steven has talked openly about himself having mental health issues in the past
- People are saying that if he hadn't brought up the divorce in the first place, this wouldn't be necessary
--- Also ignoring the fact that it was already spreading around the Internet and being leaked by Hilary's family.

I've got nothing else to really say. The next few weeks are going to be a total crapshow. At this point, I'm just most upset that the kids are going to see all of this* in a few years even if they innocently Google their own names. It's just f'd up.

*That is to say, on top of the brokenness they're getting from the divorce. No one should get that to begin with.

Well now it sounds like they both had issues. Maybe there was a lack of trust and communication that brought out the worse in both of them. Someone did mentioned the video looked edited but I didn't watch it again for the signs. People were saying the time stamps were changed. Either way, it is a bad look. Maybe it was to make him look worse than her and she was guilty of some bad things being said too.

I did see mention of him saying "I will f*** you up" but no actual video evidence of it.

Yeah, the questions and inconsistencies around the video is one of the main reasons I'm just so skeptical.

Why omit literally one of the worst parts of it?

I do feel like everything coming out, it will hurt the chances of them working things out in the future. They are officially divorced on paper right? Or are they still going through the process?

So Biden announced he was running again which means he is the Democrat candidate. There are no debates. He is it.

But Hillary has announced she is running? Uhh wtf?

EDIT: I guess this happened a month ago. I didn't even hear about her announcing.

I honestly don't know what kind of a hole they're trying to dig, but whatever they got away with last election has obviously emboldened them to be confident to run Weekend At Bernie's 3.

For what it's worth, Hillary isn't listed here
I was under the impression that if Biden decided to run, he was the choice regardless. Just like Trump was for the republicans in 2020. There was no primary.

Can everything just... stop?

Again: if true, someone kick his ass and throw him out of society. But given that everything is currently a free-for-all attack and every single source is anonymous without actual evidence to back it up: I got nothing to go off.

Tim Pool has been accused by his own sister as being abusive and ego-driven and nothing ever came of it. I think this is just news outlets running things to get clicks at this point. Like I said, he sure seems like a narcissist to me but people need the whole truth to make their judgment in terms of supporting him or not.

One of the things that really makes me press X to Doubt is that they suggest incidents where he was abusive to his own dad. The guy's been on the show consistently for years, and is in third chair literally this very day (where they seem to be throwing shade on the article without directly mentioning it).

As with Trump, and every politician/personality/whatever, if there's something there; sure, I want to know. But outright manufacturing lies is just going to make any actual truths harder to believe.

Abortion should be a state issue, not a federal one. I thought the same for gay marriage but they forced every state to allow that.

The less power over people the federal government has, the better. The government needs to shrink, not grow.
