Dragon Ball GT In Defense of GT Pan AND WHY I LIKE HER.

While I know GT Pan has plenty of fans and isn't nearly as hated as she use to be among the fanbase and she HAS QUITE A BIT OF MERCHANDISE.......in certain Dragon Ball circles....ESPECIALLY here...she is still GREATLY DESPISED and some fans REFUSE to let go of their HATE for her and her character.

So I thought I defend her here and EXPLAIN WHY I REALLY LIKE HER.

First of all, I found GT Pan to be a return to what initially made Videl AWESOME at first when she first met Gohan in The Great Saiyaman Saga, except this time, a strong-willed tomboy female character plays a BIG ROLE for awhile in the Dragon Ball for once and DOESN"T GET COMPLETELY THROWN TO THE SIDELINES like Videl was by the middle of the Majin Buu Saga and the End of Z. Sure, she is weaker than she needs to be and yes she doesn't get to fight all that much and yes, she is very disrespectful towards her grandfather, Goku at the beginning.......but that's because she is a young little girl that HASN'T SEEN HER GRANDPA IN FIVE YEARS and when she does see him...HE IS SHRINKED TO THE SIZE OF A CHILD DUE TO BEING A CHILD AGAIN. She is bratty and immature YES, but that's REALISTIC for a little girl HER AGE.

I know everyone here will disagree with me, but that's okay, this site only represents the views of one fraction of the Dragon Ball fanbase and NOT the entire fanbase AS A WHOLE.

No one's going to be opposed to your liking Pan, she has a lot of good points and a lot of potential; however, the way she's portrayed and in particular her voice actor in the English speaking version is irritating beyond belief. We don't hate pan, but we definitely wish better for her.

I like Pan in the Japanese Dub, but I dislike her in the English Dub. That should tell you how bad English Dub GT is.

I just find children in most anime/cartoons annoying. I think in many areas, they are written poorly. Goten doesn't bother me as much as Pan or Trunks but at the start of DBZ, boy did Gohan piss me off. He ended up being my favorite prior to the Buu Saga and what has since become of him but that just goes to show how good writing and a good story can change how you view the character.

I like Pan in the Japanese Dub, but I dislike her in the English Dub. That should tell you how bad English Dub GT is.

Funimation dub of GT is what ruins it for a lot of people. It's by no means perfect or even very good, but she's far more palatable in the original Japanese.

I wouldn't be against a redub of Dragon Ball GT with the original Japanese GT music intact, but ONLY if we get a redub for the original Dragon Ball AND Dragon Ball Z FIRST.

I don't see any of that happening to level with you. Funimation already spent it's money on it's product and I assume they're happy with the reception that Kai received since it's a superior dub to their version of Z. If you find any of the dubs to be poopy then just watch it in Japanese. I find it to be the superior medium anyway.

I also don't hate Pan. Just didn't care for how she was represented. They had a real opportunity to make another badass female, but they let that go to waste.
