Video Games Is this year's COD going to be worth it?

Games ain't cheap and I seldom buy them. Since me and Jay are on Xbox, we can get away with buying one copy and "sharing" it so we are considering getting it. I am going to DL it over the live beta weekend and see how it plays before I decide. I already know I absolutely hate the way they merged everything into one window. I played the beta for last year's game and it just drove me nuts. Why did they do this crap?

The beta for Xbox is October 14th, 15th, and 16th from 10 AM till 10AM.

Anyways, anyone else considering getting it?

I'll try to get a free beta code. I got a MWII Beta via CDL 2022 website - I had to sit and watch the series.

If not, I'll do the GameStop pre-order thing.

I love Call of Duty, but I don't love this algorithm embedded, this "merge" of windows (integration). I just hope MWIII is good.

It seems like it has been all downhill since Ghosts but I am willing to at least try it and see what I think. Don't know if it will be worth buying though.

Yeah. Pretty much. In fact, some physical games either come with a code, or a DRM download as it was with MWII. I expect that to return with MWIII.

I try not to buy digital downloads over $20. I don't want this digital future. But the big three do.

I have a Series S and played PC games for the last 10+ years so I am stuck with digital but if we go fully digital, it will ruin so much. No one will trully own anything they buy.

Don't buy CoD on Nintendo consoles, they are usually gimped. Please do not encourage the Nintendo ports. Buy Nintendo consoles for the Nintendo games, and the $20/$30/$40 games.

The hordes of people that buy ports on Nintendo typically don't know better. Yes, I'm calling them idiots, because the best versions are on the other consoles.

Next Nintendo console is said to have PS4/XSX/PS5 prowess. The CPU is closer to PS4, while the Graphics are gonna be close to PS5. That's the rumor so far.

But Nintendo Switch is lower than PS4/Xbox One, closer to PS3/Xbox 360.

Switch needs to be its own thing. Nintendo has done fine with what they do best. Look at how terrible the MK1 port went.

I really, really wish this wasn't the case, but it is. Nintendo has this habit of gimping on power, at the expense of profits. Third parties are willing to support Nintendo games, but 90% of the time, games are scaled back, and it creates third party problems. Ports are usually scaled back because of the tech specs.

I wish there was a perfect Nintendo console where innovation and power meets in the middle and it brings top notch 3rd party support on the same wavelength as other consoles.

This is the one part I hate about Nintendo, so I think of them as a console manufacturer that sells their consoles only for "themselves." If you know what i mean.

Buy it for the Marios.
Buy it for the Zeldas.
Buy it for the F-Zeros.
Buy it for the Metroids.

The only Nintendo franchises I actually like are Mario and Zelda. I like Pokémon and Kirby, but only the old games, and I like Fire Emblem, but only the new games.

Great game, agreed, but most people like/love OG Star Fox. If you have NSO, go find Star Fox 64, put volume up, rumble on. Enjoy.

Metroid Other M is my favorite Metroid game too. If Metroid fans weren’t so toxic and didn’t collectively hate on games like Other M and Federation Force, then maybe their fan base would become larger.

The reason why people didn't like Other M or Federation Force is because they deviate from the traditional Metroid gameplay. The reason why Dread sold so well is because it stayed true to Metroid franchise.

Federation Force was poorly received because it was designed as a different game, but was given the Metroid sticker on the box. That's not a Metroid game. Whomever greenlit it needed to be fired.
