Television Malcolm in the Middle revival

That's the thing too. The jokes they were using were already horribly outdated (a pandemic episode 2 years after COVID?!). Don't get me wrong, a lot of jokes age terribly in the original run, but it felt like few things really hinged on them being culturally relevant.
I don't know many to have come back and still be just as good. Beavis and Butthead is one of them. I am hoping King of the Hill does well too.
I was cautiously optimistic about KOTH, but most of the cast is dying so it seems less and less likely.
Less likely that it will be good or that it will happen? I only know about Dale's voice actor passing, there were others?
Good. Or longterm reboot (which isn't bad).
Brittany Murphy (Luanne) died over 15 years ago. Tom Petty (Lucky). Maybe a couple others?
Either way, it doesn't work so well without Dale.
Idk why I knew Brittany died but I completely forgot about it. I think they could have found someone else to play Lucky's voice but it wouldn't have been the same.
And I know the focus is mostly going to be on Bobby this time around so they still could make it work.
Since it's set in the future, you could arguably write around it as a full-circle kind of thing where Gracie (their child) lives in the Hills' den because her parents are in prison/on an oil rig.
It just depends how much of a focus. I'm still a bit skeptical about a KOTH set in the future. Hank and his idiot friends was one of the biggest reasons KOTH just worked.
I am still willing to try it but I know it won't be the same.

Tbh. I rather they just have a reason Dewey couldn't be there if he didn't want to come back. Like he was off doing something good for the World or something like that.
