Meme Thread

Not wrong there, it certainly is populated by the idiots and cheerleaders of the world, with only a little room given to the mature, sensible folks. I'm gonna' go hang with the goth kids and write poems about death...
It is kind of true to life in the sense that nobody knows I exist on there too. LOL I am no longer on any of the platforms but still, the irony. I may as well have been invisible. When I did get noticed, it was either a stupid remark about me being a lesbian (for some reason people thought I was because my best friend was bisexual) or they would insult me by saying I looked like a doll, acted like the kind of person who'd shoot up a school, or just assumed I was crazy. All because I kept to myself. Morons. lol

Friend sent me this lmao

I just flat out don't get noticed on those platforms, and that's good enough for me. Gotta' love how people make assumptions about you because you're quiet, I got the same treatment in high school (reported to councilor because people thought I was going to do something to the school, because I was the quiet kid), people just don't understand introverts. I imagine it's a bit worse for girls because everyone feels compelled to tell them what they think of them even if they didn't ask for an opinion, hence the comments you received. People...they just don't take the time to understand, they just jump straight to preconceived notions and assumptions.

The Goku vibes are strong with this one :haha:
Exactly what I thought! If Goku and Chi-Chi had phones, this would be their daily texting routine!

Yeah people, in general, can just really suck. I thought this kind of crap stayed behind in high school but thanks to social media, it lives on. Seeing people in their 30s, 40s, and even 50s act like 14-year-olds is just pathetic and sad.

Agreed, a chance to keep up with high school behaviour because hey, here's everyone you knew in high school back in your lives in digital form! Goody...it's why I stay away, but I keep a profile on FB to keep tabs on family that I check yearly. People who never knew internet culture prior to social media or outside of it just assume that's how you act when you're online, and it bleeds through to everything they do online, it's shocking how some people act online vs real life. All because they think that's how it works and never bothered to learn any better. Of course the younger generations have grown up with social media now, so they act the same in life as they do online because they never learned to separate online from reality, and that's certainly becoming more prevalent as time goes on. Soon we'll have people memeing and liking each other as augmented reality technology takes hold...life's going to be more of a shitshow...

The way tech is heading, it is only a matter of time before we all have "eye phones" like in Futurama.

Oh definitely! The perfect way to convince people the latest cool tech isn't just a way to give a company 24/7 access to surveil your life. No fruedian slips allowed or we'll cancel your ass!
