I mean, is it really that much of an issue? The non-fighting characters in the original Dragon Ball run (that didn't live in villages) dressed like they were from the 80s. It's not like it's era inappropriate with that context.

Its not much of an issue i just prefer the more Fantasyish Clothing from other parts of the Series!
GT stands for Giant Turd because that's all it is.
Nah but seriously, I haven't seen GT in years and I never even got through it all. My thoughts on GT is that it's a bunch of great concepts with terrible execution except for the idea of turning Goku back into a kid which is a terrible concept with a terrible execution. I didn't like it when I was kid but maybe now that I'm a kid in an adult's body I'd like it more. I'm interested to see when I finally take the plunge and binge through all of GT if I'll come around to the lukewarm/positive opinions everyone else on here seems to have about GT.

I mean Goku is the Main Character of DB Afterall better than Continusly making him Unconsious!
So ive just finnished Dragonball GT and honestly it is a great ending!
While the whole Becomming part of shenron? Bit is Confusing its probably intended to be intntional similar to the question if Goku Jr IS Goku or just his decendant!
Also the ending montage had my Eyes Teary which happens SUUUUUUUUPER Rarely!
While i still think The ending of the dragonball Manga is a tad Better as i love its Fairytale like atmossphere this ending has some of it too!
And i do have to say this Ending is 100% improved by its probable non canonicity to the Manga!
Manga Goku gets to live happily but dangerously with his friends forever and gets to meet Gods and stuff!
Anime Goku becomes a God and watches a World that is finnaly at Peace!
GT is great ALL of it asside from some TINY Nitpicks and the black star dragonball gives Goku one last happy relativly Carefree Adventure so it improves the show not Detract from it!

I only watched it once and remembered thinking Goku Jr had to have been hit in the head a few times.

It's not an epilogue. It originally aired between episodes 41 and 42, and takes place before the final scenes in the last episode.

Yeah, basically he became a god or immortal of some kind and left to join Shenlong in his world.
The writers have stated that the point of it was for the audience to feel a true sense of loss, that Goku was leaving and never coming back. Simply killing him wouldn't have worked, because then he would just go to the afterlife like usual and everyone could see him again etc. So they decided to have a change come over Goku instead. It gives the ending closure and finality.
Dubbed GT is some of FUNimation at its worst. Subbed is always the way to go, but especially in the case of GT. (Although I've heard good things about the Canadian/UK dub.)
