From what I gather from various DBZ tubers, some folks say Akira forgot about her, other say the voice actress retired and asked that the character not be mentioned again.

Probably a bit truth in both explanations.

To be honest, her story does seem to be closed, and if she had stayed on, she would have just been a background character.

I heard that Toriyama purposely removed her from the story and then forgot about her in the long run.
