They are tossing around the idea of a second one for Ohio but the numbers haven't gone up much so I don't think they'll need to do anything.

Like I said before, they should have just paid older folks and people who are high risk to stay home and let everyone else continue working. All that money they handed out, could have easily added up to a lot more of it went to only people who needed it. It makes more sense than shutting down the economy. At this point, they will just keep doing this every 2 to 3 months. The virus itself is weak but highly contagious but when you have a bunch of people who have medical conditions and weakened immune systems as is, the virus will just take advantage of that. Swine flu was much worse and they didn't shut down crap for that nor make any protection causes for it which makes me believe this is more to do with politics than actually caring about people which is just sad.
I'd like for them to take some kind of action to shut things down for those most at risk, but at the same time, it's one of those things where if people had just paid attention in the early days and taken action to protect themselves, we'd not be in this position right now. Large groups gathering, beach parties, riots, etc...no wonder it spread and no wonder it caused a second wave. Just a little common sense could have stop the spread, but apparently that's too much to ask.

People are very selfish. Regardless of taking early action, it only takes a small percentage to say f it and not care and it ends up being in vain. You have people overreacting and other people underreacting. This is how tornados happen, two different winds clashing. No wonder the country is in a mess right now.

Can't disagree with that, people are undeniably selfish and think only for themselves in situations like this.

It can't happen to me, I don't need to wear that crap, I'm not going to catch it! What do you mean I can't come in, I don't need a mask, I'm superman/woman! I'm recording this to show my ignorance. Hey Facebook, I'm being an idiot and trying to get into a store, but the guy doing his job won't let me in! Have this man fired while I cough on people!

America has a lot going for it but when it comes to people coming together, it is lacking big time. Unless you live in a small town, there is no sense of community. It is just people hating each other for the dumbest reasons.

Cities are a bad thing and the leading cause of societal decay. You don't see such tom foolery in the suburbs or small towns. People generally get along because they're invested in one another as neighbors. In a big city you don't give af about anyone.

Believe me, I have noticed. Cities and areas that surround cities have the most crime and a complete lack of community. I prefer country areas myself.

Five inmates assigned to work and reside at the Hickman Farms egg plant in Arizona have tested positive for Covid, meaning that, due to the way inmates are housed at the plant, all inmates working there will have been exposed to it. What that means for the employee base at the plant, the eggs coming from the facility, or the prison staff keeping tabs on those inmates is unclear at the moment, but it seems inevitable more cases will follow.

Tempe's mayor-elect has also confirmed that he has contracted Covid. His symptoms are mild and he is making a recovery, but stressed the seriousness of protecting yourself from the virus.

I think they are going back to closing bars and gyms again in some areas. I don't think it is a statewide thing here yet. I get people wanting to go out and be social but come on... The people who have stuck this crap out have to deal with it again because of people being ignorant and selfish.

One tavern in Tempe, AZ are now under investigation as it's come out that they willingly let employees work who had contracted Covid. Socially responsible, indeed.

A downtown Phoenix Antique shop is gaining traction for their blunt sign alerting shoppers they are not welcome in unless they have a mask on. It reads: "If you choose not to wear a mask, we respectfully ask that you postpone your visit. We'll be happy to debate the efficacy of masks when this is all over, and you come in to sell your dead grandmother's clothing." Well done them!

I have also stumbled upon posts about that sign.. Brilliant! I think more warnings should be like this, because I saw lots of people missing the freaking point. Many bright minds saying "iT cAnT hAppEn 2 Me" or "iTs JuSt A fLu" but failing to realize it's not just about them. The universe is not revolving around them. To be fair, we youngster didn't pay much thought to the virus because we knew we are healthy enough to cough it out. But we were worried shit about our old parents or grandparents, we were constantly checking on them and stopped visiting them or making any physical contact.

I just love Wyoming, easily the best state.

Also, the only metric that matters is the death count. Which as we can see...

... is decreasing steadily. I see no reason to close anything down. Politically motivated fearmongering will be the death of this country.

Agreed, it costs nothing just to throw a mask on and get it over with. The selfishness about such a simple thing is staggering.

Agreed, let's all move there immediately and wonder why the numbers skyrocket after doing so!

I think the sensible thing is more along the lines of not opening more up at this point, granted closing down gyms and bars again for the time being isn't necessarily a bad thing at this point in time, either.

Politically motivated fearmongering will be the death of this country.
That's been the tactic for generations, why would things change now?

Bars and gyms are filthy anyways. Think of all the germs in those places because people are careless and owners don't clean things down properly.

Agreed, the sweat all over the gym machines, the spit and urine all over the bars and bathrooms...just...no...drunk people and sweaty people can do that at home.
