I did go through a number of DQ illustrations. You're right! Toriyama feel! But a lot of them are too jarring to just put into Dragon Ball. The non-DB enemies I've used are default RPG Maker illustrations, which can work. But battles are something I'm going to deal with when I get to the end of everything.Here are some:

Dracky from dragonquest for the bats! gives them atleast a toriyama feel!
Crabs are because it's a water-y area. The wolves do actually appear as a side quest enemy not long after. I think I the ones I ended up using from Hero's Legacy, and I need to re-rip them. It was way back before I was using Photoshop, and background removal isn't as good in GIMP.And i dont know the Crabs in the early sections seem weird so how about:

Will strongly consider for the title theme, but maybe not battle. I'm pushing the Faulconer score to slightly add some seriousness to it. Dragon Ball's OST is fun, but doesn't quite have some of the gravitas that it could in places.Thats it for now i heavily suggest to atleast implement makfushigi adventure as the battle and title theme its not a big difficult to implemnt change and would make the soundtrack better!

And even then it's really difficult to implement because I'd have to flag it on every single map, duplicate events, etc. It'd be super time consuming.Also considering you wanna have The Faulconer score how about at the beginning of the game in gokus/ Gohans house there is a Grammophone were you can swap between your original Faulconer soundtrack and a more Kikuchi styled one?
